A procedural Geometry Nodes setup for generating customizable steel crowd control barriers in Blender. Perfect for environment design, events, protests, or construction scenes.

Works best on Blender 4.0 and higher.


What can you customize?

Length, top and bottom positions:

Top and bottom radius, and length of the bottom ends:

Steel thickness, resolution, overall thickness, and bar thickness:

Number of bars, damage probability and strength and missing bars probability:

Feet lengths, radius, types and positions:

Hook and loop types, count and positions:

And panel:


Materials

All textures were downloaded from https://3dtextures.me/ and are licensed as CC0.

You can use them or replace them with your own materials. Switch the direction of the stripes in the Wave Texture node:

One great trick is to use the Bevel node, so the connected parts look a bit more realistic. But you can disable it if you want, of course. Works in Cycles only!


No instances needed

Everything is created in Geometry Nodes, so there are no extra instances. Although the setup might be overwhelming, I’ve tried my best to keep it organized.

I've also managed to keep the feet always on the ground, even when you change the overall thickness:
